The brake mechanism of the castor has the task of holding the equipment or the machine firmly in the stop position. Therefore they are important components in relation to safety.
Six types of brake mechanisms are available for selection:
Guaranteed to stand still.
1. Wheel locking brake Type b
Brake locks the wheel from rotating.
2. Total brake mounted behind Type h
Brake for apparatus and transport castors mounted behind locks the wheel and the fork head at the same time.
3. Total brake mounted in front Type i
Brake for transport and heavy load bearing castors locks the wheel and fork head at the same time, mounted in front.
4. Central brake Type q
Brake for medical-technical castors. Braking device integrated into the castor body; locks the wheel and fork head at the same time.
5. Directional brake Type r
Brake for equipment and hospital beds with integrated directional locking brake, locks the steerable castor in the straightahead position.
6. Directional lock Type ASL (bolt on)
Directional locking brake that can be retro fitted, locks the steerable castor in the straightahead position for transport castors
